This zip file has an expiration date that Apple will notify you of at the time of the data request.
After the death certificate and Access Key are verified by Apple, a zip file is generated for download. Once they are designated as a Legacy contact, your loved ones can request a copy of your data on Apple's website using this Access Key and a copy of the death certificate. Save this Access Key as a PDF, then text or email it to your Legacy contact.
When you add someone as a Legacy contact, a digital Access Key is generated. This process is very simple and requires only that you enter their name in the contacts field. You begin by setting up one or more individuals as your Digital Legacy contact. At this time, the Digital Legacy program has been announced but will not be available on iOS 15 until sometime this fall.
